This week's update: Memories of taps...

We snuck in this weekend to peer through the windows.  A fair amount of progress which is somewhat helping balance the anxiety and stress over the dreaded trench!

But it's funny as one of the things I spotted was the tap that had been installed in the ensuite.  I was sure they installed the wrong thing as I thought we were getting two taps and a spout rather than a mixer tap.  You can see the options I thought we were getting in an old post.  But it looks like we are getting just the one mixer tap.  And looking back at the colour selections and contract I can't seem to find any reference to 3 hole tapware.  So maybe we decided to stick to the standard at the time?  I have no idea!  I know our sales consultant did discuss it with us as we didn't want anything too modern looking but at the same time we had decided we didn't really care in the bathroom if it was too modern at least with regards to the tapware.  So who knows?  Seems as we will stick to what we have been provided!

Poor reflection but you can see the tap is a single mixer
I think it is this:

Whilst we were expecting this:

In the scheme of things I don't think I can be bothered fighting that one since we don't have any evidence and some people do try and tell me a mixer tap is nicer... And the sink has always only had one hole so it should be something I spotted earlier!

One thing that does look incorrect though is the toilet pan.  Again it may be something I just raise at PCI as a bargaining chip.

This is what is in the contract:

And this is what I spied with my little eye:
Toilet pan looks like it's a "Concorde" pan
So no real big deal although I must say the Trident does look better.  And is easier to clean.  To me that's the biggest thing...
Trident CC Pan

Concorde CC Pan

Hmmm just had a thought maybe these didn't get installed as the actual ones that we spec'd did get installed?  Anyway hopefully that's what's happened.

Sparkies have been by as well and wired things up :)

Garage opener installed!
We're enabled for BBQs!  Once we have gas to the house that is...
External gas point
And power for things like Mosquito zappers and a sound system...
Outdoor power point
The kitchen is looking more finished although still missing a splash back.  Looks like they have replaced the sink too (you can read more about the case of the wrong sink here - H1 forum section).  At least it looks very square in there!  And the tap is super boring but that is OK as we have some spares from a previous purchase.  Loving the rangehood :)
Kitchen missing splashback
Wow those standard lights are so... um... ordinary.  I wonder how long we'll live with them before changing them or if we'll get use to them and not notice how ordinary they are?  Eeek.  At least the air cond vents look pretty cool!
Standard light fittings/battens
The standard light switches at least look pretty decent!
Six way switching!
There is a spare 920 door which was for the home theatre which is now out in the cold.  It's even painted!  I wonder if they will take it away or leave it for us.  Not that we have that much use for it.
Spare door
Drum roll... we have gas hot water!  Or will have... once our gas is installed!

Gas storage hot water system
And another drumroll as the air cond unit is also installed!  Woohoo!
Actron Air ESP+

Services corridor...
We now have vents installed too!  Saw some boxes of the IXL tastic thing so I assume that our bathroom gains two vents, one for the standard extraction fan and one for the IXL tastic thing.  Hmm.. maybe we should have considered a warm IXL tastic extraction fan for the loo?  Since that's where we all go if we need to do something more than a number 1...
Lots of vents and a batten.  Oh yes that thing is a light fitting.
Still no stairs.  I think that's the last of the 'big' things.  Other things that still need to be done include the little access door for the under house, installation of the dishwasher (spotted a box in the garage and assume it means not yet installed), splashback, pantry shelves, assume the wardrobe shelves and linen shelves, toilets, and the big trench!  And a clean up.  So surely we are almost there.  Other than the trench :(  grrrrrrrrr!!!!!

I find it puzzling that the stairs have yet to be done.  They need to be painted too.  So odd that it has been scheduled so late.
